There were more people in downtown Twin Falls Tuesday afternoon than shopkeeper Gary Gillette Jr. usually sees in a week. And one of them was dressed as a big red ball.
 
The Idaho Lottery filmed a commercial there Tuesday, picking the location for its narrow streets, tree-lined sidewalks and the Americana of a merchant-lined aisle, workers said. It drew gawkers down Main Avenue as they watched a waitress with a coffee pot, a bride and others march down the sidewalk.
 
The “Rockwell slice of Americana” is something Gillette, owner of Eagles soda fountain, said the area already has in dollops and was displayed full-on for the commercial. It was enough to get Gillette to move here after a career in Texas, and something he hopes the city preserves.
